SonoFAST Retains Hatch Medical to Broker Next Generation Ultrasound Coupling Hydrogel
ATLANTA, GA: SonoFAST, a provider of medical devices, announces extension of Hatch Medical’s representation to broker the license or sale of its dual-surface ultrasound-coupling hydrogel technology platform.
Ultrasound procedures use ultrasound gel which is often regarded as cold, slimy substance. Procedures require reapplying the gel on the contact surface which in turn ends up leaving residues. SonoFAST replaces cold ultrasound gel with a polymer pad making life much easier for patients and physicians by eliminating the need to reapply ultrasound gel, clean the patient and clean the probe during an exam. It provides crispy image with high quality and no image distortion. The dual-surface solid hydrogel technology incorporates an adhesive surface on one side allowing for non-slip contact to the ultrasound probe or lithotripter. The material’s acoustic properties are very similar to that of water and tissue, resulting in minimal acoustic impedance and greater transmission of ultrasonic sound waves.
An estimate points figure over 100Mn diagnostic and interventional ultrasound procedures are performed each year in the U.S. for a variety of applications such as pregnancy, lithotripsy, biopsies, drainage procedures and vein embolization. The company’s latest solution is packed for single patient use making ultrasound clean and comfortable.
"We look forward to working with Hatch Medical to secure a global partner committed to the remarkable potential of the SonoFAST technology," says Keller Tomassi, President, SonoFAST.
