MILPITAS, CA: South Carolina Federal Credit Union selects Array Networks, provider of application delivery networking for its APV series application delivery controllers (ADC) to boost efficiency and security of its Fiserv Spectrum business applications.

Fiserv Spectrum offers a suite of financial applications, electronic services and technology tools to credit unions. It is available in an in-house, service bureau or resource management delivery model and is based on HP-UX operating system with industry standard technology. Further, it offers intuitive navigation to each member’s financial and profile information for quick transfer of data between Spectrum and third party data. “Focusing on the triple risk dimensions, Fiserv also looks at the data through the eyes of technology, analytics and predictive model, assisting CIOs to manage risk and address any solvency requirement,” says Andrew Davies, VP, Global Market Strategy, Financial Crime Risk Management, Fiserv.

South Carolina Federal has implemented Fiserv’s products to support its debit and credit card management, core systems, ATMs, disaster recovery and business continuity. However, after adopting the Fiserv Spectrum account processing platform, South Carolina Federal Credit Union was suggested by Fiserv to upgrade its servers to https secured by SSL certificates. Further, the Credit Union would require upgrading its load balancing and application delivery solutions to support SSL offloading due to the compute-intensive nature of 2048-bit SSL encryption.

In essence, South Carolina Federal is deploying two application delivery controllers from Array Networks - APV Series ADCs and integrated hardware accelerated SSL processing. The Credit Union’s Fiserv servers will now operate with enhanced efficiency and security owing to Array’s ADCs ability to manage the SSL encrypted traffic from the servers. The APV controllers have simplified transaction experience for the Credit Union’s members and employees.

“South Carolina Federal Credit Union’s choice of APV Series ADCs to enhance the availability, performance and security of Fiserv Spectrum is yet another example of Array’s commitment to supporting the wide range of business applications essential to our customers’ success,” said Paul Andersen, Director of Marketing at Array Networks. “We are thrilled to have Array’s SSL offload capabilities and support for Fiserv applications playing a role in providing a superior experience for South Carolina Federal Credit Union members and employees.”
