Spirit AeroSystems announced today that Belcan would be onsite as a Strategic Partner in Spirit's Aerospace Innovation Centre (AIC) in Prestwick, Scotland.

FREMONT, CA: Belcan will work directly with Spirit engineers when the facility opens. The companies have agreed to a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to enter into a strategic partnership. Being a global supplier of engineering, technical recruiting, supply chain, and information technology services, Belcan will offer Spirit with broad-based engineering capabilities and specific skills, primarily focused on supporting Spirit's wing engineering activities in Prestwick. This is inclusive of multi-disciplinary engineering skills, program management, and manufacturing engineering resources.

The Vice President of Spirit and Chief Engineer of Programs Dr. Sean Black said that they are enthralled to announce the partnership and MOU as a critical milestone in capturing the high-level engineering talent needed to support the design and the build of Spirit's one-of-a-kind aerostructures. This robust collaboration will further enhance Spirit's power to continue to leverage its complete suite of Distinctive Capabilities, specifically in developing advanced aircraft architectures, to define tomorrow's aircraft.

Black and Keith Matthews, the President of Belcan International, signed the MOU in the first half of this year in Prestwick to formalize the agreement. Leaders from both the companies were in attendance.

Lance Kwasniewski, CEO of Belcan, states that they are excited and look forward to increasing and strengthening their world-class support of the Spirit via this MOU. This concrete collaboration draws upon Belcan's broad and in-depth engineering expertise, full lifecycle capabilities, and global experience to continue as the Spirit's trusted engineering services partner.

Matthews further added that they are proud to be Spirit's engineering service provider and delighted to sign this MOU to demonstrate their commitment. Belcan is looking forward to creating tremendous value for Spirit as they revamp the future's aerostructures market.

The AIC is an 85,000 square foot center to house Spirit's engineering design and manufacturing excellence coupled with advanced development and pre-production equipment in a collaborative environment with the key partners.
