INDIANAPOLIS, IN: In order to provide the St. Cloud, Minnesota city’s residents high quality services in smart and affordable way, its IT staff has chosen Scale Computing’s HC3for the city’s ERP work instead of purchasing an additional SAN to host the new solution.

Scale Computing is a provider of hyperconverged solutions. Its HC3virtualization platform is a complete ‘datacenter in a box’ with server, storage and virtualization integrated into a single appliance to deliver simplicity, availability and scalability. IT staffs of the city have chosen it for its affordability, ease of use and reliability features. HC3 products make the deployment and management of a highly available and scalable infrastructure as easy to manage as a single server, and do not need any licensing of virtualization software or external storage.

In addition, it can be installed within an hour;it has built-in browser-based management, and deploys new VMs in minutes. It offers no storage provisioning or management, and has no disparate systems to integrate.

Commenting on the selection, Jeff Ready, CEO of Scale Computing exclaims that rather than repeat the expense, management headaches and configuration required of their existing virtualized X-IO SAN, St. Cloud decided to look for a different approach to virtualizingtheir new ERP environment.

“With its scale-out architecture, HC3 is the perfect alternative to expensive and difficult-to-manage SANs because it combines the servers, storage and virtualization into a single, appliance-like solution to provide high availability for Virtual Machines without the licensing fees normally associated with a traditional virtualized deployment,” he adds.
