Storage Made Easy Integrates HTML5-based PDF Annotation Editor into its File Share and Sync Fabric
FREMONT, CA: Storage Made Easy (SME), a provider of unified storage infrastructure for cloud data, introduces a PDF annotation framework developed using HTML5 technology. The PDF Annotation editor seamlessly integrates within SME’s enterprise-grade File Share and Sync (EFSS) fabric solution, enabling users to annotate shared documents directly from the browser and across their desktop and mobile apps.
The annotation functionality delivered from other solution providers still uses a Flash viewer service that companies prevent their employees to utilize into their enterprise applications. SME’s latest innovation addressed this issue by providing a HTML5 based full-fledged PDF Annotation feature that is now available for OEM integration in addition to direct corporate and service provider use.
SME’s EFSS platform allows users to upload or select a PDF document from the public or private cloud using various connectors offered within its solution suite. At the next step, users are able to access this PDF file with their preferable version in the browser. The easy-to-use PDF Annotation functionality then enables users with the ability to annotate the same document with stamps, notes, highlighting, redaction, text, and a signature tool. The updated PDF with specified annotation with related users’ details can easily be saved and burnt into a new PDF document. In addition, the user encapsulated within a same team folder can view and edit annotations made by fellow teammates. These changes or modifications are automatically recorded in the SME Audit Log. Administrators use these logs for governance of the entire system.
Further remarking about the roadmap of SME, CEO Jim Liddle said that SME is focused on continually strengthening their OpenStack integration by feedback from customer requests, with a continued focus on governance and security from a company data perspective.
