Strand Life Sciences Analytic Platform Gets Updated with Avadis-NGS Server Edition
SAN FRANCISCO CA: Strand Life Sciences and Strand Genomics have rolled into the market an updated enterprise edition of their popular Next Generation Sequencing analytics platform called Avadis-NGS Server Edition.
Designed to cater to the needs of multi-member clinical genomics teams, it allows shared analysis via central storage of data and results. Dr. Vamsi Veeramachaneni, VP of Software Development at Strand says, “As more and more people in a lab are using NGS, there is a need to optimize for sharing, scalability and efficiency. It provides a central repository for data and pipelines so it’s easy to add computational resources to the server at any time to handle larger sample volumes.”
The Avadis-NGS Server Edition is compatible with all hardware platforms and can be configured to include different lab requirements. The web-based interface for system administration makes it possible for the administrator to deal with tasks, plan backups, and examine system usage.
Apart from the latest edition, Avadis-NGS will also be integrated with another Strand product—StrandOmics. It is a clinical interpretation and reporting platform that tackles everything from sequencing to reporting to support the needs of a clinical genomics lab.
“We can easily move from the analysis pipelines that we’ve created in Avadis-NGS into StrandOmics which provides all the scientific and medical information our medical geneticists need to classify patient variants and make an accurate diagnosis. StrandOmics provides all the supporting literature evidence and automatically formats the references in the report, leading to increased productivity from our medical genetics team,” said Dr. Preveen Ramamoorthy, Laboratory Director, Strand Center for Genomics and Personalized Medicine at Strand Life Sciences.
