Surbana Jurong and Autodesk to Promote Technology Adoption and Digital Transformation
Surbana Jurong, an Infrastructure company and Autodesk Asia, a software firm, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to mutually promote advanced technology adoption, digital skills development and sustainable design to fortify Surbana Jurong's competitive differentiation and technological leadership. The objective of this association is to extend Surbana's Building Information Modeling (BIM) beyond the architectural design into Integrated Digital Delivery (IDD) for their projects and other areas of improvement. The trifecta of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for design, Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DfMA) and mobile technology on the jobsite will be included to enable cloud-based collaboration and reporting.
IDD is the key propeller under Singapore's Construction Industry Transformation Map (ITM). Enabled by BIM, IDD fully blends processes and stakeholders into the value chain via smart technologies and information communications technology.
Scott Herren, CFO, Autodesk explains, "A growing middle class creates inevitable demand for more housing, transportation, and infrastructure worldwide. Automation presents an opportunity to do things better and is key to ensuring that the industry can deliver on these needs while balancing the need to preserve our environment and natural resources. Surbana Jurong's leadership in these areas makes it a standout force in the market, and we are excited about the next milestone in our continued collaboration."
Wong Heang Fine, Group CEO, Surbana Jurong summarized the partnership by saying, "As a technologically driven leader in urban and infrastructure consulting, Surbana Jurong is committed to driving digital transformation across the built industry's value chain. This is why we value working with technology leaders like Autodesk who are as dedicated to innovating with their toolsets as we are on our projects."
