SANTA CLARA, CA: In the contemporary technological era, containers become an essential part of the software solutions. Most of the applications this day are a blend of containers and traditional virtual machines, or also physical servers running parts of the complete application. In such a complicated scenario, it becomes absolutely necessary to introduce a unique solution that not only collaborates with the entire application, but also ensures it’s secure at a remote site or on a cloud. Treading the same lines, Sureline Systems, provider of solutions catering to cloud migration, datacenter consolidation and disaster recovery, has announced the addition of support to containers through its flagship SUREdge product line.

SUREdge is a proven, enterprise-class software platform for Application Migration to Cloud, Application Mobility, and Disaster Recovery. It accommodates onsite, remote and cloud-based scenarios for mission-critical applications running on physical and virtual servers. All the metadata and configuration information required for complete information recovery and its access at the new site can be captured using SUREdge. Additionally, the recovery plans can be tested easily and frequently without restricting the user to a specific cloud.

“Prior to SUREedge, DR solutions supporting physical or virtual servers locked customers into one vendor’s cloud or colo-services. They lacked cloud-based Application Mobility or DR site and testing the Recovery plan—without losing data or affecting Application Mobility,” says Ravi Goyal, Co-Founder, President and CEO, Sureline Systems.

The companies aim to support containers running on all popular platforms, including physical servers and virtual machines. This helps in migration of the entire infrastructure in case of an imminent disaster. Furthermore, the addition assists in migrating containers with high data volumes, and can be restored in Kubernetes-managed Google Container Engine.

Sureline has been successful in delivering services for aligning product capabilities with business requirements, based on performance and security when migrating to the cloud. All of the standard Linux environments where containers are developed and deployed are supported by SUREdge. This feature includes support for Docker containers 1.10.2 running on Ubuntu 12.04, Ubuntu 14.04, CentOS 7, and RHEL 7.
