FREMONT, CA: Telefonica, a telecommunications company selects Juniper Networks MX Series 3D Routers to provide core infrastructure for its next generation Fusion Network. Fusion Network supports enhanced delivery of rich content and cloud services to transform its customer experience for mobile and business services.

Juniper Networks 3D Routers provide enhanced system capacity, density and performance required by enterprises, service providers and cloud operators. The MX2020 will offer multi terabit IP/MPLS routing capacity and connectivity across all Telefonica locations. The new infrastructure will address service interconnectivity for internet, content providers, content delivery networks and data centers relying on Telefonica.

The MX2020 will provide Telefonica with performance and density to meet the growing bandwidth and service demands of its customers. The platform will provide higher levels of reliability for Telefonica with advanced Junos OS automation, analytics functionality and SDN/NFV programmability.

"Fusion Network is a good example of the critical need for service providers to step up to their customers' evolving demands as the cloud era really takes hold. Telefonica Spain is building a new business model, not just a network, to ensure it is able to deliver digital services and content at scale for many years to come. Juniper is pleased to be supporting this transformation from the metro edge to the core," says Vince Molinaro, EVP, Juniper Networks.
