TELUS Brings Fiber-optic Internet To Edmonton
FREMONT, CA: TELUS, a Canada based Telecommunications Company invests one billion dollar in Edmonton to bring fiber-optic internet and to connect more than 90 percent of homes and businesses directly to the company.
With the service local residents and businesses will have the advantage of high Internet speeds (150 mbps)- made possible by the direct fiber-optic network connection.
“Our investment in Edmonton will create Canada’s largest urban centre with nearly ubiquitous access to the fastest and most reliable Internet services to dramatically improve the way Edmontonians live, work and socialize in a digital world,” says Darren Entwistle, TELUS executive chairman.
He further added that this new technology will create 1, 500 jobs directly. This initiative will also allow healthcare providers, educators and technology companies to re-imagine how they deliver services.
TELUS’ believes in providing full suite of products for news distribution and content sharing to its customers to amplify their messages, build relationships with their target audiences and open up new opportunities for their business and this believe has only motivated it for this new movement.
