Themis Unveils SWAP-C Optimized RES-mini Server to Support War Fighters and Mission-Critical Applications
FREMONT, CA: Themis Computer, a provider of computing solutions for OEMs, systems integrators announces the second generation Intel-based RES-mini ruggedized, small form factor server to provide superior resilience to shock, vibration, and temperature extremes.
The RES-mini combines the design of the RES server with E5-2600 V3 Series Intel Xeon processor with up to twelve cores, 512 GB DDR4 ECC memory to provide enhanced reliability features. The product also features eight removable 2.5 SATA or SAS disk drives and is fully compatible with popular virtualization technologies such as VMware and Citrix XenServer. RES-mini aims to bring next generation fully integrated server technology in a SWAP optimized, sub-rack form-factor, to mission-critical military, industrial, and commercial applications.
It has two expansion slots for extensive high-speed I/O, IPMI v2.0 support, and storage. The RES-mini server provides users versatile configuration and system expansion options and a strong, lightweight coated aluminum chassis that provides improved system resistance to corrosion. The RES-mini also incorporates thermal and kinetic management technology in its design. The addition of commercially available, off-the shelf networking cards, graphics, I/O, peripherals, and other value-added options results in a system that has greater flexibility to meet current and future system requirements.
The SWAP-C Optimized RES-mini Server features One E5-2600 v3 Series Intel Xeon processor with up to twelve cores and Up to 512 GB DDR4 ECC. It consists of eight, 2.5 inch drive bays. Two low profile expansion slots are designed for high reliability in demanding operating environments. It has specially coated aluminum for light weight and corrosion resistance.
It also has stainless steel reinforcement for strength and stiffness. Optional dust filter are provided. It comes with Windows and Linux application support as well as IPMI v2.0 support.
“Themis is committed to providing the highest-performance computing, in the smallest form factors possible, with a focus on size, weight, power and cooling. The RES-mini is a unique, ruggedized server that exemplifies how Themis brings these benefits together with tiered storage and virtual machines, at the edge of the cloud, to support war fighters and mission-critical applications,” says Bill Kehret, President and CEO of Themis.
