Tinker with 3D Printed Characters on Phones and Tablets with Tinkerplay

SAN FRANCISCO, CA: 3D printing is marching ahead to be an integral part of the world’s future as it continues to captivate children and elders imagination alike. To make 3D printing all the more accessible, Autodesk announces a mobile app called Tinkerplay for kids that introduces creative play through 3D design and 3D printing.

Built on the Modio app, which was recently acquired by Autodesk; allows users to design and customize characters and creatures digitally with the option to 3D print afterwards. The app has enhanced parts of application, features and functionalities and adds it to the Tinkercard product suite. Users can tinker the designs on their phones and tablets in different setting at varying times and backgrounds and enjoy the whole making process.

“With Tinkerplay, we’re providing another great tool designed for kids of all ages who want to play, create and tinker,” asserts Samir Hanna, Vice President and General Manager, Autodesk Consumer and 3D Printing.

Tinkerplay app has been designed to engage children and their imagination into 3D printing by engaging them in the creation of creatures, and characters they like in their own favorite colors and then putting them all together. The option of dragging and dropping of interchangeable parts makes the custom creations easier. . A collection of professionally designed character templates are also available.

The Tinkerplay app has been made available for download from Google Play, the App Store, and the Windows Store on both mobile and desktop devices, across platforms of iOS, Android, Windows and Windows phones.
