BERWYN, PA: TruePosition, a wireless location solutions provider and a Broadband Corporation subdivision; recently publicized the launch of TrueFix, their Machine to Machine/ Internet of Things (M2M/IoT) location product. TrueFix location system is an enterprise-grade platform designed for emergency call location, resource tracking, M2M/IoT and enterprise applications that need accurate, private and secure location. M2M platform providers, operators, chipset manufacturers and system integrators will be able to enhance their ability of locating devices with the TrueFix system for applications viz. asset tracking, fleet management, or resource tracking to name a few. "IoT is a key growth area that is poised to take off," said Rob Anderson, Executive Vice President and Chief Technical Officer (CTO), Engineering and Technology, TruePosition.

Ideal for small devices, TrueFix provides a feathery Software Development Kit (SDK) with minimum bandwidth, device memory and power consumption requirements. The solution leverages a binary protocol to send and receive location data, and secures the transmission by Advanced Encryption Standards (AES). Using the existing backhaul channels including 3GPP, WiFi, LoRa, or other protocols connected devices are able to communicate with TrueFix.

Powered by Skyhook Wireless Wi-Fi database TruePosition Wi-Fi location solution is at the centre of TrueFix platform. Distinctive from Assisted Global Positioning System (A-GPS) the TrueFix Wi-Fi solution locates devices exactly to the point in every environment like indoor or in dense urban areas. Devices are equipped with barometric pressure sensors and Z-Axis (vertical) location can be accessed via phones. TrueFix system is scalable, cost effective, and available in a cloud-based or on-premises implementation.

"Our TrueFix IoT solution fills an important niche of providing an inexpensive and non-intrusive way to locate those devices, particularly in GPS-denied environments," Anderson added.

Leveraging the TrueFix platform, TruePosition is aiming its partners to evolve and update the end user solutions.
