BLUE BELL, PA: Unisys switches its Department of the Interior (DOI) Financial and Business Management application on to Cloud to provide significant flexibility. Unisys aims to simplify management of the SAP and Compusearch cloud infrastructure, and tightly align with DOI and its components.

DOI has the potential to allocate cloud computing resources along with evaluation of Service Level Agreement performance and monthly invoice. Unisys associates with Virtustream, a provider of cloud computing management software to provide Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) solutions in the Cloud hosting services.

Migration of SAP-based financial management application to the Cloud has proved beneficial to DOI business. The movement was awarded by DOI's Foundation Cloud Hosting Services (FCHS) contract. The contract provides access to Cloud service and thereby reduces the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) to deliver IT services.

"The Department of the Interior's migration of its financial management system to the cloud marks a milestone in the U.S. federal government's push to harness the benefits of cloud computing," asserted Casey Coleman, VP for Civilian Agencies, Unisys.

FBMS is an integrated Financial and Management System that adds potential to DOI and its components in planning budget, allocating, analyzing and reporting on all their budgetary, expenditure, property and other activities.
