StreamFileCore allows customers to receive media in new ways while still maintaining broadcast quality standards.

FREMONT, CA: Pronology, a developer of cutting-edge broadcast workflow solutions, launches its updated StreamFile Core cross-platform software application. StreamFile Core is a tool for getting IP video protocols and encoding them into editor-friendly formats like  ProRes, DNx, XDCam, etc. This new version combines both NewTek NDI and Haivison SRT support, offering increased IP and streaming potentials. This version also enables an unlimited record channels based on hardware performance. StreamFile Core helps facilitate the move towards remote production while assisting the influx of production and technical staff work remotely.

StreamFile Core was developed upon the same technology that fuels Pronology’s award-winning mRes encoder. It allows facilities and studios moving to an IP-based platform to use their existing non-linear editing, graphics, and digital system infrastructures as they transition to IP. StreamFile Core fills the gap between IP-based video technology and legacy baseband recording workflows.

This recent update adds assistance for several additional codecs, including the potentials to record ProRes and DNx with both .mxf and .mov wrappers. This enables users working from home, on location or anywhere, to take their NDI or SRT streams and turn them into edit-ready files for Avid Media Composer, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, and others. StreamFile Core also can work as a cloud-based model leveraging Amazon Web Services (AWS). Licensing and support is available for both short and long term projects.

Pronology has also added some stability features into the software that enable automatic resolution scaling, frame rate identification, and correction. StreamFile Core is agnostic to frame rate and resolution. Its architecture offers a future-proof way to use evolving IP video standards without any hardware upgrades to existing systems. StreamFile Core is a seamless to use tool that develops upon Pronology’s reputation for creating simple and understandable user interfaces.
