
U.S Bank's new Touch ID App Makes Mobile Banking Simpler than Ever
FREMONT, CA: U.S. Bank recently announced its release for an updated version of the U.S. Bank Mobile app for iPhone with an aim to simplify secure login for mobile banking activities. The new version of the app comes with a new Touch ID feature for faster and convenient access to money in-tandem with a unique fingerprint login feature to boost security.
“We have been looking at ways to use biometrics services such as voice and fingerprint to authenticate identification for several years,” said Gareth Gaston, executive vice president and head of omni-channel banking at U.S. Bank. “Today we have critical mass. With more and more devices using fingerprint as an option to unlock tablets and phones, customers are not only comfortable with fingerprint login, they expect it. This enhancement is one more way U.S. Bank is putting innovation and technology to work for millions of customers.”
Touch ID is set to be made available for U.S. Bank customers who use iPhone 5s or later models, and hope to have consequent releases of the U.S. Bank Mobile app for iPad and Android in the near future.
U.S. Bank customers are also in line to experience mobile check deposit improvements too. Five years ago, U.S. Bank customers were among the first to be able to deposit checks from their mobile devices. The updated software in the new app is set to make it easier to click the right image on the first go via the addition of enhancements in image capture from various angles and low light conditions.
The updated U.S. Bank Mobile app for the iPhone is expected to make mobile banking and payments convenient and secure for consumers while its portfolio of new features. In the month gone by, U.S. Bank upgraded person-to-person mobile payments by adding a real-time option via the clearXchange network. U.S. Bank was also one of the industry pioneers in integrating Apple Pay, Samsung Pay and Android Pay within its app for mobile payments.
