FREMONT, CA: Leading provider of embedded system solutions, Lynx Software Solutions announced its integration with Vector Software, a provider of dynamic software testing solutions for embedded systems headquartered in Rhode Island. The latter’s VectorCAST test automation platform would now support the former’s LynxOS based mission critical applications dynamically including those deployed on LynxOS-178, the only RTOS to be awarded a Reusable Software Component (RSC) by the FAA. The company recently announced that LunxOS-178 has been selected as the software platform by Ampyx, an airborne wind energy system developer. Earlier this year, the company also unveiled LynxSecure 5.3 Separation Kernel Hypervisor at Embedded World, Nuremberg, and announced a powerful new capability that extends the principle of domain separation to the network connection. At the same time, in partnership with Webroot, they revealed real time cloud-based threat detection for guest operating systems hosted by LynxSecure.

Earlier this month, Vector Software released the latest version of VectorCAST/Ada, the test solution that automates Ada unit, integration, and system testing, necessary for validating safety-critical embedded systems. VectorCAST/QA, which enables development, teams to automate all test activities, shorten test times, and generate real-time metrics on release readiness was also unveiled by the company earlier this year. It integrates with an organization’s existing build system and test infrastructure to collect key metrics such as code complexity, frequency of code changes, test case status, and code coverage information without affecting the existing workflow or tools.

Commenting, Robert Day, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Lynx, said, "LynxOS-178 offers developers a significant time to market advantage for safety-critical aerospace, defense and other applications by supplying OEMs and system integrators with proven software and artifacts that have previously been certified. The partnership between Lynx and Vector Software will minimize customers' development effort and risk by providing a streamlined path for creating any further artifacts they may need. As the VectorCAST and LynxOS tool environments both support the standards-based Eclipse foundation, the integration and subsequent use is a very straightforward process." he added.

William McCaffrey, Chief Operating Officer of Vector Software, added, "VectorCAST is an essential tool that supports the dynamic testing of mission-critical applications in industries such as aerospace and defense, avionics, automotive, industrial, medical and transportation. Our partnership with Lynx enables companies that are building safety critical applications on LynxOS and LynxOS-178 to easily access Vector Cast’s broad spectrum of automated testing capabilities, including unit, integration, and system testing as well as code coverage analysis."
