FREMONT, CA: . UCCaaS delivers business-grade communications and collaboration services powered by cloud, offering the flexibility of a premises-based solution with the simplicity of a hosted solution. With the announcement of new offerings, the company looks forward in expanding its UCCaaS offering.

Leveraging Cisco Hosted Collaboration Solution (HCS)

The first venture of this expanded partnership will be UCCaaS Mobile First, Verizon’s cloud-based collaboration solution based on Cisco's Hosted Collaboration Solution (HCS). Using the new offering, mobile users will be able to send instant message and make and receive HD voice and video calls on their preferred devices through the Cisco Jabber UC client over Verizon's 4G LTE network.

The Cisco HCS offers highly secure collaboration solutions for public, private, and hybrid clouds from partners delivering Cisco Powered cloud services. Its key features include: deployment of the latest collaboration applications in a flexible way; monthly subscription based payment on only what is being used; enabling quick add or remove users and applications with ease; protecting privacy of business, employees and customers; and reducing management complexities.

Cloud-connected Audio Technology

For giving customers and partners a cost-effective solution to conferencing requirements, Verizon leverages Cisco's cloud-connected audio technology. The conferencing capability within the new product is based on Cisco's WebEx Cloud Connected Audio and Collaboration Meeting Room offerings. With Cisco's Connected Audio and Collaboration Meeting Rooms, users have the ability to start an on-demand conference from any device across more than 150 countries globally.

With Collaboration Meeting Rooms, everyone can have a business-quality experience with video, audio, and content sharing. Participants can join meetings from any mobile, desktop, or room system, anywhere and meet the way they want whether in one-on-one discussions, in personal, always-on meeting rooms; or in scheduled meetings. It is available in on-premises, cloud, or hybrid deployment models.

Cisco WebEx Cloud Connected Audio is an audio conferencing service naturally integrated into WebEx meetings. It provides internal and external users with the best and most consistent experience to improve meeting effectiveness. Cloud Connected Audio can be delivered through direct enterprise architecture or from a service provider as-a-service. With Cisco WebEx Cloud Connected Audio, call routing can be performed on premises with call signaling and audio traffic traversing redundant IP connections.

In addition to its UCCaaS offerings, Verizon allows its partners to sell UCCaaS directly to end customers in a reseller model or through an agent model and receive a commission. The company is also planning to open up its APIs to build points of integration into other third-party UCaaS and collaboration tools, such as Salesforce.

“Verizon's offering of instant messaging, conferencing and collaboration through Cisco applications is a powerful -- and lucrative -- combination from a sales perspective,” says Ken Mercer, vice president of master agent, Telecom Brokerage Inc. (TBI), a Verizon Platinum partner.
