VISN 23 Deploys Perceptive Software To Modernize Clinical Content Management

SHAWNEE, KAN: The Veterans Health Administration (VA) Midwest Health Care Network, more popularly known as Veterans Integrated Service Network 23 (VISN 23) will now implement Perceptive Software's Acuo Vendor Neutral Archive (VNA). A product from Lexmark enterprise services, it consolidates medical image storage for VISN 23 radiologists and clinical users for a federated view of all clinical data across eight healthcare delivery sites in five states.

“VISN 23 needed a modern infrastructure to support new imaging modalities and growing demand for access to medical images across its provider network. Perceptive VNA provides the VA greater flexibility to implement solutions for enterprise viewing, clinical workflow and other applications while delivering ultimate control over their medical imaging data assets,” says Jeff Timbrook, Vice President Healthcare, Perceptive Software.

Perceptive VNA is a vendor neutral foundation that delivers quality patient-centric approach to clinical content management. It develops clinical workflow and archiving capabilities for healthcare organizations and allows easy sharing of data across enterprises. It brings about freedom and flexibility in implementing departmental systems that delivers the best patient care, quality clinical services and business process needs. Perceptive VNA also boosts business continuation and disaster recovery capabilities with VNA software operating in prime as well as less important data centers.

Perceptive VNA supplies medical imaging data in standard format, allowing for flexibility in the healthcare network in order to implement server and storage infrastructure, department viewing and workflow applications. This standard formatting also puts away the need to transfer data whenever a picture archiving and communication system (PACS) is replaced.
