VMware's Workspace ONE for Secure Digital Workspace

PALO ALTO, CA: Change, convergence, complexity and convenience are the basic needs of today’s IT enterprises for a secure digital workspace. VMware, a provider of virtualization and cloud infrastructure solutions, unveils Workspace ONE platform, to deliver a secure digital workspace for flexible work styles and to bring your own device (BYOD). Workspace ONE platform integrates all devices, application delivery and identity management technologies to securely manage enterprise IT business mobility needs and provides end users to seamlessly access all business resources regardless of the device type.

The key features of the latest platform include: a self-service app store, Single-Sign On and policy enforcement for any app on any device. The platform offers employees with a Single-Sign On process to gain instant and personalized access to cloud, mobile, and window applications. It also allows employees to reduce the risk of data loss by choosing their level of convenience, access, security and management, which in turn increases the adoption of BYO programs.

Additionally, VMware Workspace ONE platform includes email, calendar, contacts, documents, and chat applications to enable employees to use corporate mobile applications and organizations data with invisible security measures. It also allows employees to work collaboratively in real-time by providing team chat, enterprise discussions, and other social tools.

The newly introduced platform also includes an AirWatch policy engine that automates device compliance through a series of customized warning and enhanced security. It also simplifies the application packaging, delivery and ongoing management to automate the real-time application delivery for the desktop administrators and keep them updated on the fly.

"Digital enterprises are struggling to deliver a unified digital workspace due to disjointed technology and teams. We are proud to be the first to bring together identity, device management and application delivery on a single integrated platform so business can be conducted by mobile end-users regardless of platform, location, device or application," said Sanjay Poonen, Executive Vice President and General Manager, End-User Computing, VMware.
