Webasto Delivers New Cooling Solution to Scale down Fuel Costs

FENTON, MI: Webasto, provider of equipment and vehicle heating and cooling solutions, has launched the new Polar Cab TS engine-off cabin cooling system.

The new cooling system delivers on-demand cooling during down time which results in fuel savings, reduced idle time, increased productivity and operator safety and comfort. It highlights an original storage core with a progression of aluminum micro-channels, which route liquid refrigerant around a graphite honeycomb substrate saturated with water, which is able of storing cold energy at an extremely high competence. Transferred through a compact air handler to the cab, it results in operator comfort and fuel savings.

Also, it offers cooling capacity of 1.3 kW (4,450 BTU/h) and consumes very little power. The Webasto Polar Cab TS engine-off cabin cooling system does not need any additional batteries and can be fully charged within three hours. Its entire kit includes thermo storage core, electrical compressor (24V), condenser with fan, air handler, wire harness and miscellaneous hardware for installation.
