Wedge Networks Enhances Asymmetric Web Filtering Solution

SAN FRANCISCO, CA: Orchestrated threat management company, Wedge Networks expanded its offerings to enable value-added services supported by its Web filtering solution. Leveraging Wedge Cloud Network Defense (CND), Web Filtering can be executed for Internet compliance, applying an Asymmetric Filtering technique that requires minimum ten percent of the footprint to achieve compliance in comparison to traditional techniques.

Wedge CND's latest system release pioneers the support for multi-service policies, to empower service providers by offering personalized, value-added Web filtering and security services; and to meet various necessities of government agencies, enterprises, schools and residential consumers. Wedge CND's support for multi-services with multi-tenancy allows network operators to extend web filtering of administrative domains all the way into their internal and end-user ISP customers. Users can self-select and modify criteria from an available selection of value-added security services.

Generally both the outbound Universal Resource Locator (URL) web page request and the inbound web page response are needed for a proxy-based Web filtering. Outbound URL request narrates ten to fifteen percent of HTTP/HTTPS traffic whereas inbound reply narrates the remaining eighty-five to ninety percent of the traffic. To enforce compliance needs, Wedge CND’s Asymmetric Web filtering technique abstracts only the outbound URL requests to be processed; and blocks the unauthorized URLs and certain URL categories before it hits the internet. It further reduces the web filtering that is to be procured, installed, powered and regularly updated. This technique can also be utilized for capital and operational expense reductions. Wedge CND’s Asymmetric Web Filtering system can be re-established by the equipment and operational complexity reduction, to form the platform of Internet Compliance applications.
