Yahoo Mail Updated to Simplify Sending and Viewing of Attachments

FREMONT, CA: Yahoo Mail adds new feature to attach, send and receive photos, files or links much more easily. A panel appears on the right end of the window and displays photos, files, GIFs and web links for easy and quick access, all sorted according to the date.

Another update for the Desktop version is, users can now view both the mail and the attachments in a dual window format aligned one beside the other; eliminating the confusion of switching the windows. On clicking the attachment the mail now gives a preview of Microsoft Office attachments (Word, PowerPoint and Excel) and Adobe PDFs without downloading .

The update makes the window responsive where the preview is automatically transformed into an expanded mode so that only the attachment is available to view. On hovering the mouse on the ‘Back’ button, a small widget still displays the e-mail message.

New technologies have been derived and incorporated from Yahoo’s acquisition, ‘Bookpad’. They have also provided some shortcuts to use their new features effectively:

Left/Right keys to navigate between attachments; Up/Down to scroll within an attachment; Ctrl+F to have an expanded view of the attachment, Ctrl+F again to view slides in Presentation mode and Esc key to return to the default view; Ctrl -/++ to zoom out or in within the document.
