Zero-Copy Data Revolution Is Underway With Sympatic's Pre-Seed Round Of Financing Led By Saltagen Ventures
Sympatic is a zero-copy data collaboration platform that enables healthcare and life sciences companies to leverage sensitive data with no data transfer and complete privacy protection.
FREMONT, C: "As a cancer researcher and genomic data custodian, it's painful to see privacy policies fail when data is shared or data held back that could save lives. Our goal is to allow the full power of deep medical data to be used to drive discovery and new AI models while leaving data owners in full control without the need to duplicate data. We are thrilled to partner with Saltagen Ventures who share Sympatic's commitment to develop the next generation of zero-copy data collaboration tools." says Piers Nash, Sympatic's founder, and CEO.
ScaleGood Fund and Saltagen Ventures led a pre-seed round of fundraising for Sympatic. This data collaboration platform enables users to build and manage secure data sandboxes on their preferred cloud. Data sharing agreements, which take months to arrange and are ultimately unenforceable; copies of sensitive data are duplicated, and copies of data are shipped out of sight, are currently the industry standard.
Sympatic reexamines the data sharing process and establishes the groundwork for future ethical data use. Dr. Piers Nash, the founder of Sympatic, has firsthand experience with the never-ending holdups and obstacles to data sharing from his two decades of study. Professor of Cancer Research at the University of Chicago and Director of the National Cancer Institute Genomic Data Commons, Nash knows firsthand how expensive, hazardous, and difficult it may be to gain access to crucial information that could hasten the development of new treatments.
