FREMONT, CA: AMD announces the selection of their professional graphics card based on the Venus graphics processor- FirePro W5170M graphics, by zSpace to enable real world virtual reality in the classroom. zSpace is a California based technology firm that designs real world virtual reality systems.

AMD designs and integrates technology that powers intelligent devices, like personal computers, game consoles and cloud servers. Unlike other virtual reality (VR) solutions, AMD FirePro delivers interaction and group collaboration through a VR precision ‘stylus’ to naturally access the virtual experience matched with a head-tracking computer display in an all-in-one design.

This new innovation for Education empowers students to “learn by doing” in a virtual environment where it is easy to undo mistakes, make changes, and not worry about material costs or clean up. It also includes a comprehensive and expanded content and application library that can be introduced into the core curriculum and utilized by multiple grade levels.

For instance, with zSpace for Education, students can do detailed analysis of a frog or even a human, right within the science class. Also, students can build a quadcopter without worrying about cost or safety- all accomplished during a 45-minute middle school science class or college anatomy class.

“AMD FirePro graphics provides the performance and features required to deliver the ultimate virtual reality learning experience. With AMD and zSpace technology, students learn highly engaging concepts that would be too complex, expensive, messy and/or dangerous for a normal classroom,” says Paul Kellenberger, CEO, zSpace.
