The trend of logistics and supply chain management as a competitive weapon, as opposed to a series of seemingly disparate functional cost centers, is driving change in how these functions are managed and operated. The global logistics industry is transforming alongside developments in the latest digital technologies—IoT, telematics, mobile, cloud, and open systems. With the digital boom on one side, the CIOs in logistics arena are facing conflicting issues stemming primarily by increased interest in logistics management and latest technology developments. Logistics companies are looking to harness information acquired through digital technologies to streamline business operations—asset tracking, fleet management, maintenance scheduling, and dispatching. Pedigree Technologies, headquartered in Fargo, ND, improves customers’ ability to easily and dynamically manage their people and operating environments in an increasingly complex, interconnected, and real-time life. “We are building solutions that leverage the complexity of current technology trends into simple-to-use tools that can create competitive advantages and big efficiencies,” says Wade Wilson, CEO, Pedigree Technologies.

The success factor for most logistics operations is dependent upon coordination between workers, assets, and equipment to meet ever increasing customer demands. Pedigree Technologies’ flagship SaaS-based OneView platform, an asset intensive service chain solution, allows customers to have integrated information on a single solution. OneView manages entire field of operations with capabilities that include asset tracking, dispatching, work order management, and proactive maintenance. The solution tracks, diagnoses, and communicates with all highvalue assets and enhances operational data visibility enabling proactiveness, and supply chain alignment. For instance—companies, along with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), are able to monitor and track the location of equipment throughout their supply chain enhancing real time visibility into current inventory and sales. Additionally, they can monitor equipment behavior, track the failure points, and react more quickly by fixing a design issue or manufacturing-line problem. Furthermore, Pedigree Technologies offers a diagnostic package with CAN Bus integration to auxiliary sensors, and extended applications whereby customers can monitor their equipment for real time issues.

In addition, their customers’ organizations face a plethora of impacting performance-cost drivers that could range from escalating fuel expenses, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) compliance, and on-time deliveries. The Pedigree Technologies OneView platform Fleet Management solution allows customers to track, monitor, and plan-manage their fleet of vehicles and drivers. The solution allows the customer organizations to keep a tab of fleet’s idle time, gas or diesel savings, time or resource savings as well as driver and shipment performance. With this solution, the customers are able to achieve better driver retention, supply chain management, vendor management, asset utilization, asset maintenance, and purchases.

Customers with mixed fleets such as standard tractors and trailers can take advantage of Pedigree Technologies exceptional solution. The firm also provides onboard liquid inventory, temperature, or tire monitoring solutions along with abilities to utilize the right data with the right people, integrated with common supply chain solutions (e.g. dispatching systems), and APIs that enable integration with enterprise mission critical systems.

One of the largest differentiators for Pedigree Technologies is that it is one solution for all kinds of assets, people applications, and related technologies (e.g. mixed fleets, tanks, safety accessories, etc.). Additionally, Pedigree is unique in that its solution includes an Electronic Logging Device (ELD) solution. The solution helps customers’ electronically record information pertaining to drivers' hours and vehicle inspection reports. The firm is also incubating multi-tiered distribution partnerships to leverage the data knowledge across the customers’ supply chain.

Wilson firmly believes that the future is in automation of, and planning for operational decisions, encompassing situational awareness, planning, and execution. “Going beyond the basics of tracking, we are building solutions that can garner proactive details, while also allowing for tiered effectiveness and efficiencies at different levels of business,” concludes Wilson.

Pedigree Technologies and Tranztec Announce Strategic Partnership for Streamlined Fleet Management Solutions

Wednesday, October 18, 2023

FARGO, N.D - Pedigree Technologies, announce its partnership with transportation and logistics software provider Tranztec. The new partnership will allow motor carriers to deploy integrated fleet management systems with greater speed and automation at a lower cost.

By utilizing Tranztec's cloud-based middleware solution, Pedigree has successfully integrated its OneView fleet management platform with prominent transportation management systems (TMS) in a seamless and cost-efficient manner. This collaboration addresses a common concern among fleet operators when assessing new technology: "Will this solution seamlessly integrate with my TMS?"

Tranztec's platform boasts an array of over 150 pre-built connectors that facilitate the mapping and standardization of data exchanges between ELD telematics systems like Pedigree's OneView and TMS systems offered by industry leaders such as McLeod, Trimble, Prophesy, among others. In addition, Tranztec's solution exhibits the capability to integrate with leading maintenance software like Trimble TMT, as well as in-cab solutions such as RealVision and Transflo imaging. These pre-built integrations empower fleets to swiftly and cost-effectively leverage cutting-edge technology, effectively addressing complex challenges prevalent in the industry.

Pedigree's integrated ELD and telematics solution extends the benefit of allowing users, whether at the frontline or in the C-suite, to operate directly from their native TMS, thereby optimizing efficiency and facilitating informed decision-making. This negates the need to engage in the time-consuming process of switching between multiple screens. With the Tranztec platform, real-time information concerning asset locations, driver hours, and other critical data from Pedigree's OneView platform seamlessly integrates with a fleet's TMS. Simultaneously, data originating from the TMS, such as dispatch assignments and messages, is exchanged bidirectionally with OneView's mobile driver application.

Beyond the advantages of cost-efficiency and speed, the Tranztec partnership equips fleets with access to an integrated solution ecosystem that accommodates their ever-evolving requirements. Fleets can effortlessly and affordably introduce additional capabilities to their TMS, such as tools from Pedigree Technologies like Dash Cameras, enhancing operational visibility and real-time alerting.

"We are thrilled to partner with Tranztec to bring our driver friendly workflow and TMS integrations to a whole new level," says Scott Mcwilliams, VP of Transportation for Pedigree Technologies. "By delivering seamless and tight integrations with the leading TMS providers, we can deliver a positive experience for the drivers and our customers dispatch operations. We look forward to welcoming those looking for a customer centric experience to explore the OneView by Pedigree and Tranztec difference."

By leveraging Tranztec's integration platform, Pedigree offers faster, more seamless deployment of smart truck and trailer technology solutions to increase fleets' operational speed and flexibility, keeping fleets ahead in this fast-paced industry and in full control of their data and technology.

Is It Time to Switch Your ELD Provider?

Monday, October 30, 2023

As an owner-operator or fleet manager, you rely on your electronic logging device (ELD) to keep you compliant with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations. But what happens when your ELD provider no longer meets your needs? Here are some signs that it may be time to switch your ELD solution.

7 Signs That It's Time to Switch Your ELD Solution

Poor Customer Service

If you have trouble reaching your provider’s customer service team or they’re unresponsive to your questions or concerns, it may be time to switch. Good customer service is essential when it comes to ELDs, as any downtime or technical issues can cause significant problems for your business.

Lack of Features

If your current ELD lacks features that are essential to your operations, such as vehicle diagnostics, fuel tracking, or route optimization, it may be time to reconsider your provider. ELDs with a variety of features provides tools and insights to help streamline operations, cut costs, and enhance safety.

Compatibility Issues

If your ELD isn’t compatible with your existing fleet management software or other tools you use, it can create inefficiencies and increase the chances of errors. A new provider that offers better compatibility can streamline your operations and increase accuracy.

High Cost

If you’re paying too much for your ELD, it may be time to look for a more affordable provider. Many providers offer ELDs at a competitive price without sacrificing quality or features. Finding an ELD with scalable solutions that can grow with your business without incurring unnecessary costs can be crucial to adapting to the changing industry and expanding your operations.

Poor Reliability

If your ELD frequently malfunctions or fails to transmit data, it can put your business at risk of non-compliance. A reliable ELD is crucial to your operations and compliance and can also help with driver satisfaction, preventing frustrating delays, calls to customer support, and additional paperwork.

Lack of Updates

If your ELD provider isn’t keeping up with FMCSA regulations and isn’t updating its software accordingly, it can have severe consequences for your business, from compliance issues and safety risks.

Poor User Experience

If your ELD’s user interface is confusing or difficult to use, it can create frustration and increase the chances of errors. A provider that offers a user-friendly interface can improve your experience and reduce errors.

Switching ELD providers can seem daunting, but finding the right provider can streamline your operations, improve compliance, and save you money. Finding the right ELD solution can take some time and effort, but it’s worth it to ensure that your operations run smoothly and you stay compliant with FMCSA regulations.

At
Pedigree Technologies, we understand that switching your ELD can be challenging for a few reasons.

Challenges That Come with Switching

• Data Transfer

• Learning Curve

• Integration with Other Systems

• Cost

Transferring data from your old ELD to your new ELD can be a complicated process. Your new provider will need to ensure that all of your data is transferred correctly, including driver logs, vehicle data, and any other information you need to stay compliant.

Despite these challenges, switching ELD providers can be worth it if your current provider is no longer meeting your needs. At Pedigree Technologies, we believe it’s essential to research and choose a provider that can offer the features, reliability, and customer support you need to stay compliant and run your operations smoothly.
