Automating Cloud Detection and Security Management

SaaS Alerts

Jim Lippie, CEO
In a world increasingly dependent on cloud-driven technology, safeguarding software-as-a-service (SaaS) applications has emerged as a mission-critical objective for businesses. SaaS Alerts, a cybersecurity company, transforms cloud security with its comprehensive security platform, designed specifically for cloud detection and security management.

Through this automated security platform, it enables managed service providers (MSPs) and managed security service providers (MSSPs) to detect and stop unauthorized activity in their clients’ SaaS applications.

The company realizes the criticality of tracking user activity in today’s work environment, where employees can access SaaS applications from any device. Focused on user-centric security, SaaS Alerts’ platform allows MSPs to gain a deeper understanding of their client’s security landscape, enabling proactive prevention of potential compromises.

“Our platform provides unified, real-time monitoring of core business SaaS applications, including Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace, to protect against data theft and malicious actors,” says Jim Lippie, CEO. “Our clients can monitor user behavior across various SaaS applications and correlate that data to detect and automate the remediation of SaaS security threats.”

SaaS Alerts enhances MSPs’ ability to secure clients by providing the tools to conduct formal IT risk assessments, perform gap analyses, and strengthen ongoing account and identity provider security.

At the core of the platform is its configuration management system, which sets a solid security baseline for any organization. It continuously monitors user activity across key SaaS applications, identifying anomalies in real-time. This is coupled with SaaS Alerts’ Respond module, a customized rules engine that can automatically mitigate threats by responding immediately to suspicious behavior. MSPs can configure rules that automatically take action when suspicious behavior is detected. In case of a successful login outside of an approved location, for instance, the platform temporarily disables the account while blocking new login attempts until the account holder’s activity is verified. These automated responses quickly neutralize risks without manual intervention, providing MSPs with valuable time to respond before significant damage can occur.

A key aspect of the SaaS Alerts platform is that it is entirely API-driven, which eliminates the need for agents on any machines or applications. It leverages data analysis and correlation across multiple applications to enhance visibility for MSPs and their clients, allowing them to more effectively identify the vulnerable points. Terminating dangerous end-user file-sharing activities and automating essential security tasks, MSPs can enhance overall efficiency and strengthen clients’ security posture.

The platform also features a fully customizable reporting engine that provides high-level assessments of an entire security environment to focused insights, such as multi-factor authentication status, guest user activity, and deployed SaaS applications. This allows MSPs to provide clients with daily reports, fostering transparency and trust.

Our platform provides unified, real-time monitoring of core business SaaS applications, including Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace, to protect against data theft and malicious actors

In a recent case, an MSP working with a 300-person organization leveraged the SaaS Alerts platform to detect suspicious activity involving an employee, who was sharing sensitive data with foreign IP addresses. Within 24 hours of the platform deployment, they could identify the unusual behavior of the employee and quickly flag the threat, enabling them to notify the authorities and prevent a significant security breach.

This case highlights the platform’s ability to identify sophisticated threats that other security tools may miss, showcasing its role in delivering real-time, actionable insights to protect businesses from evolving cyber threats.

While many cybersecurity tools take a broad approach, SaaS Alerts focuses on user behavior within SaaS environments, ensuring companies can secure their most essential productivity tools without added complexity. By prioritizing this critical aspect of security and offering MSPs the tools to provide detailed, actionable insights, SaaS Alerts continues to set new standards in cloud security.

In an evolving threat landscape, the company stands as a trusted partner dedicated to helping businesses secure their digital environments.
