Enterprise Cloud Solutions for Growing Businesses

Although enterprise cloud solutions have unhinged the restraints on computing power, many government organizations still struggle to realize the benefits of the cloud. Companies are slowly becoming aware that this happens mainly due to the technical complexities associated with ERP implementation and the cloud. As many rely on old-school methods to implement enterprise cloud—a relatively new technology—they fail to master its varied and awesome potential. In this regard, only a seasoned technology partner that understands this challenge can transform such IT bottlenecks into profitable growth systems. Thorben, a woman-owned small business, delivers this expertise in the form of enterprise solutions for growing businesses and federal government agencies. The company offers advisory services to governmental agencies and acts as a liaison with IT systems integrators. Thorben comes with a team of technology professionals who work on SAP and similar enterprise system integration and maintenance projects and addresses the inherent challenges associated with design, implementation, and planning of enterprise cloud solutions. Founded in 2004, the firm was the brainchild of Katrina Koomey, a consultant in companies such as Price Water Coopers and IBM. Prior to founding Thorben, Katrina had worked on many commercial and federal ERP projects during her tenure as a consultant.

According to Chris Koomey, COO at the company, many organizations fail to strategize enterprise cloud effectively. For example, companies continue to pay for third-party software even after implementing enterprise cloud solutions from prominent vendors such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. In fact, in order to reap the economic benefits of enterprise cloud, they should stop paying for third-party software and leverage enterprise cloud solutions to perform tasks, including testing and development. In this regard, Thorben delivers bespoke IT solutions required to manage the technology and processes that run various business operations. Such solutions are intended to help clients overcome the major challenges associated with cloud migration and help them extract maximum benefits from them.

Thorben understands that companies will have to leverage AI and ML to perform various business operations in the future. As many organizations have started to make progressive transitions toward AI and ML, Thorben has come up with a step-by-step strategy to assist them. They start by automating some of the processes using inbuilt tools in the enterprise cloud solutions.

We have been helping our clients face their toughest IT challenges for years. We are building an infrastructure to reach out to more agencies in the federal government

“One of the benefits of enterprise cloud is that one can add and subtract capabilities in real-time,” mentions Koomey. Thorben also ensures that companies make the most out of such enterprise cloud capabilities and enable them to work smarter. For example, the company helps its client automatically increase the storage capacity and computing capability to enhance performance. If they find that their clients are not using such capabilities, they automate turning off such features to reduce costs. In essence, Thorben helps their clients implement, migrate, and architect enterprise cloud solutions and assists them in taking full advantage of their inherent capabilities.

As enterprise cloud facilitates configuration management in the cloud environment, companies can have a 360-degree view of their system and thereby adhere to security compliance. Using an in-house tool, Thorben automates configuration management and allows its clients to monitor their systems constantly. With this capability, companies can identify issues in the system and resolve them automatically. This reduces manual labor to a great extent and saves costs. Thorben finds similar cost saving opportunities when organizations migrate dozens of standalone systems to the cloud. In such cases, the company identifies areas where they can share resources to reduce network traffic and improve processing time and user experience.

In one instance, Thorben collaborated with the U.S. Army to consolidate their resources and automate various processes by leveraging the power of the cloud. The company is developing and implementing AI and ML models to automate multiple processes. In addition, they have put in place a plan to optimize the cloud to reap maximum benefits from it. Such capabilities enable the organization to save costs and add more value to its stakeholders. Moving ahead, the company plans to help more federal government organizations utilize the benefits of enterprise cloud solutions. “We have been helping our clients face their toughest IT challenges for years. We are building an infrastructure to reach out to more agencies in the federal government,” mentions Koomey.
