Adrian D. Mebane is Vice President, Deputy General Counsel for The Hershey Company. He leads the company's global Legal Risk Center of Excellence and is responsible for addressing
high-impact risks in the global ethics and compliance, regulatory, litigation, and intellectual property practice areas. Mebane proactively assesses geopolitical, economic, legal, and regulatory trends to prioritize risk management in support of Hershey's strategic vision and business priorities.
Mebane works collaboratively with and is a trusted advisor to executive leadership, senior management, the Audit and Finance & Risk Management Committees, and the Board of Directors on a variety of legal and compliance matters. He also supports the General Counsel with overall management and direction of the company’s law department.
Prior to joining Hershey, Mebane worked for Weatherford, a leading provider of oilfield services and products with operations in more than 110 countries, where he most recently was Associate General Counsel for Ethics & Compliance. Mebane was Counsel in the White Collar and Regulatory Enforcement Practice at the law firm of Crowell & Moring LLP in Washington, D.C., before joining Weatherford.
Mebane holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Georgetown University and a Juris Doctor degree from Howard University School of Law. He is a member of the District of Columbia and Illinois State Bar Associations.
