Darren Cockrel has spent the last 15 of his 20 years in the technology field building, leading, and scaling IT teams for billion-dollar organizations like Nortel and Dollar General. Darren joined the pack in May 2013, after three years at Ozburn-Hessey Logistics, where he served as executive vice president and chief information officer.
Darren’s team internally creates the technology that makes Coyote an industry-leading service provider, from CoyoteGO, our mobile app for drivers, to Coyote.com, our online web portal for customers and carriers, to our internal systems that are purpose-built for the unique way we handle freight. But what Darren says he’s most proud of is Coyote’s unbeatable culture, passionate people, and powerful technology capabilities. Coyote’s systems are imagined, built, and delivered by talented technology experts. Coyote’s IT department is responsible for application development, project management, product road-mapping, IT infrastructure, and integration. Darren loves seeing his team make a direct impact on the business operations of Coyote’s more than 14,000 customers in many different industries.
Darren holds undergraduate degrees from the University of Kentucky and Aquinas College, along with an MBA from Vanderbilt University’s Owen Graduate School of Management. He is a proud supporter of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the Wounded Warrior Project.
