Joanne Schehl
Vice President and Deputy General Counsel Multifam, Fannie Mae
Joanne Schehl is Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel of Fannie Mae’s– Multifamily Mortgage Business. Reporting to the Executive Vice President, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary, She leads the team responsible for providing legal support to the Multifamily Mortgage Business in the areas of debt acquisition, loss mitigation, counterparty relationships, contract infrastructure, risk, operations, and strategy.
Previously, She was Vice President and Deputy General Counsel – Multifamily Mortgage Business.
Before joining Fannie Mae in 2010, Schehl was a partner at Arent Fox PLLC, where she was a member of the real estate and finance groups, and served on the firm’s executive committee and as its professional development counsel. She founded and led the firm’s strategic technology initiative and led its diversity efforts.
Schehl has a bachelor of arts in English language and literature and a juris doctor from the University of Virginia.
