Design Strategy

Luis Coimbra, Founder and CEO
How was Design Strategy created, and what gap does it fill in enterprise digital transformation today?

The foundation of Design Strategy was born out of real-world senior executive experience. After more than 25 years in C-level and executive technology roles, including serving as Partner and Director of Enterprise Architecture at Cogna Education, I witnessed a gap between purchasing technology and achieving digital transformation. I led Cogna's largest digital transformation initiative, which was reflected in its market valuation. That experience made clear that many companies invest heavily in tools but lack the foundational architecture to support them.

Design Strategy was founded in São Paulo, Brazil, in 2024 to bring that level of structural digital transformation to other enterprises. With a team of over 20 specialized professionals spanning software engineering, DevOps, quality assurance, and business analysis, we apply the MIT CISR framework to build the five essential building blocks of a digital business. Our goal is to elevate companies into operational excellence, particularly in the age of AI.

How does your expansion into Austin, Texas, fit your broader SaaS strategy?

We identified an opportunity to internationalize mature, proven Brazilian SaaS platforms into the U.S. market, specifically targeting the tech hub of Austin, Texas. By establishing our U.S. affiliate, DStrategy, LLC, in 2025, we created a two-way bridge to bring robust Brazilian solutions to the U.S. market and to apply our transformation methodology to American SaaS companies that need to modernize for the AI era.

I currently direct the U.S. expansion from Austin, where I oversee the strategic positioning of our SaaS portfolio for the North American market, while overseeing our Brazilian operation through our CEO in Brazil.

Not every company is ready for the same transformation at the same time. Our role is to meet each company where they are—whether that means internationalizing a mature SaaS product or rebuilding an outdated architecture from the ground up.

We are currently internationalizing platforms like NashAI and DNX Soluções. We don't just distribute these products; we prepare them for new markets and open them up for investment and strategic partnerships.

How does the Triage Suite accelerate this transformation process?

We have always used our own proprietary solutions in our transformation work. Over time, that capability—supercharged by AI—became a product in itself. The Triage Suite is our transformation accelerator, a set of tools that allows us to diagnose, correct, protect, and build software with auditable evidence.

Not every company is ready for the same transformation at the same time. Our role is to meet each company where they are—whether that means internationalizing a mature SaaS product or rebuilding an outdated architecture from the ground up.

For instance, TriageHub identifies, proposes, and applies code fixes while keeping humans in control. It provides forensic security analysis by cross-referencing logs, source code, and dependencies against massive vulnerability databases, ensuring that AI explains the risk while the human makes the decision. Finally, TriageCode applies Specification-Driven Development through specialized agents, ensuring serious software isn't built on improvisation.

We believe that AI should not replace human judgment; it should amplify it. In our Triage Suite, the AI explains the problem and proposes the fix, but the human always holds the final decision. Evidence precedes the promise.

Can you share an example of how your products are delivering tangible outcomes?

We have a portfolio of SaaS products operating with their own traction. One example is JurisReport. It achieves 94 percent transcription accuracy and reduces the average analysis time to just 12 minutes, all while ensuring LGPD compliance. What used to take days of manual transcription is now ready for litigation in minutes.

What is the next phase for Design Strategy?

The next phase is deepening our footprint in the U.S. market through our Austin operation, while elevating SaaS platforms globally. We are building the U.S. team over the next 18 months and are actively seeking investment and distribution partnerships for our portfolio products. Ultimately, our mission is to deliver real digital transformation where technology serves as the operational backbone.

Deep Dive

AI-Led Digital Transformation that Survives Enterprise Reality

AI-led digital transformation has moved from board-level aspiration to a capital-allocation question. Executives no longer need another demonstration of what generative models can produce; they need proof that AI can improve processes without weakening control, security, accountability and software quality. The bigger problem is not model access. It is the enterprise environment into which AI is introduced. Fragmented systems, unclear ownership, inconsistent data and aging codebases can turn promising pilots into disconnected experiments that fail to change how work gets done. Effective transformation partners should be judged by the depth of architecture they bring before software is built. A credible provider begins by diagnosing process maturity, system dependencies, data readiness and governance gaps and then translates that diagnosis into a practical modernization path. This requires senior-level fluency across business change and software delivery. AI does not create value simply because it automates activity; it creates value when human judgment, audit trails, security review and decision accountability remain visible inside the delivery cycle. Software quality has become especially important because AI-assisted coding can increase output faster than organizations can verify it. Buyers should look for partners that treat evidence as part of delivery—documented specifications, testable acceptance paths, security checks and controlled approval points. This is where many transformation initiatives weaken. They measure speed, but not whether the software is explainable, maintainable, testable and safe to extend. The strongest providers also understand that AI-led transformation is rarely a single-country or single-product exercise. Companies expanding software across markets need localization, compliance awareness, commercial positioning and architecture modernization to move together. A SaaS platform prepared for a new region must be more than translated; it must be evaluated for scale, data governance, support readiness and investor credibility. That blend of market entry and software modernization separates transformation work from basic implementation support. Vendor selection should favor firms able to connect executive intent with engineering discipline. The right partner can examine an existing platform, decide what should be preserved or rebuilt, guide teams through controlled AI adoption and show evidence for each recommendation. It should also recognize that AI is not a substitute for responsibility. Decision rights must stay clear, approvals must return to qualified people, and management should be able to review evidence before major software changes move forward. This is the standard that now matters for AI-led digital transformation; not a louder promise of intelligence, but a disciplined path from architecture to measurable business use. Design Strategy fits this profile particularly well for enterprises that need AI-led modernization rather than isolated tool deployment. Based in São Paulo with U.S. operations in Austin, it combines digital transformation consulting with proprietary TriageHub capabilities, including TriageCode for specification-driven development and TriageShield for security analysis. Its work is grounded in enterprise architecture experience, software engineering delivery, SaaS internationalization and human-led AI governance, giving it relevance for companies modernizing legacy platforms or preparing products for new markets. For executives who need AI adoption tied to architecture, evidence, software quality and human control, Design Strategy is the premier choice....Read more

Q1

What Should Buyers Expect from AI-Led Digital Transformation Solutions in Latin America?

AI programs often struggle when they are treated as standalone experiments instead of part of daily work. AI-Led Digital Transformation Solutions in Latin America should connect strategy, workflow design, data use and adoption so teams can move from pilots to tools they actually rely on. Buyers should expect clear stages, real tested use cases and governance that explains how AI decisions are made. Just as important, teams should understand how people will review, adjust and trust AI supported outputs in practice.

Q2

How Does Design Strategy Approach Digital Transformation?

Design Strategy focuses on closing the gap between traditional services, legacy SaaS and modern AI driven workflows. It builds what it describes as Service-as-Software, turning existing processes into AI native systems that act more like automated services than disconnected tools. With a presence in São Paulo and Austin, the firm applies an AI first approach supported by academic grounding, aiming to make AI-Led Digital Transformation Solutions in Latin America more structured and usable in real business environments.

Q3

Which Workflows Benefit Most from AI-Native Services?

The strongest results usually come from workflows that are repetitive, information heavy and decision driven. These include tasks like sorting requests, summarizing information, routing work or coordinating across systems. AI-Led Digital Transformation Solutions in Latin America work best when they are built around how people actually complete tasks, not just by adding a new interface on top. Success is measured by whether work becomes simpler and whether exceptions can still be handled without falling back into manual steps.

Q4

What Quality Factors Matter When Evaluating a Provider?

A strong provider should clearly explain how the transformation works, what role AI plays, what data is required and how employees will use the system after launch. AI-Led Digital Transformation Solutions in Latin America should also include proper testing, documentation and change management support. The best way to evaluate them is by using a real workflow example, especially one that already suffers from delays or manual rework, and seeing how the solution improves it from day one and over time.

Q5

What Makes Design Strategy Relevant to AI-First Transformation?

Design Strategy stands out by combining its TriageHub platform with an AI first design approach and an academic foundation. This helps shift transformation work away from isolated tool adoption toward structured service design. In AI-Led Digital Transformation Solutions in Latin America, this matters because organizations are not just adding AI features, they are rebuilding how services operate. The focus is on linking business capability design with adoption in a way that supports long term use, not just early prototypes.

Q6

How Can These Solutions Create Value After Launch?

Real value appears when systems keep improving after rollout, not just during implementation. AI-Led Digital Transformation Solutions in Latin America should help teams process requests faster, retain knowledge across handoffs and reduce reliance on spreadsheets or fragmented communication. Ongoing measurement is key, especially around usage, exceptions and friction points. Even small breakdowns in workflow can pull teams back into manual processes, so continuous refinement is what turns AI from a tool into a stable part of operations.
