AWS Generative AI Services Latam : CIOReview
CIOREVIEW >> June 2025

Hundreds of forgotten oil pipelines lie rusting on the ocean floor—each one an environmental hazard waiting to happen. Documenting them has long seemed impossible, with records scattered, incomplete or missing. “This was the kind of challenge GenAI was built for,” says Deivid Bitti, CEO of Flexa Cloud, a pioneer in fusing GenAI with AWS. “Yet most real-world applications remain in early stages, often limited in scope or focused on tasks like basic automation.” In late 2022, Flexa took on that complex task for Bravante— identifying and mapping more than 500 deactivated pipelines. Flexa applied GenAI with precision, combining Amazon Textract, Anthropic’s foundation models, and AWS Bedrock (still in preview) to help Bravante decode fragmented data and reconstruct a complete dataset. “We were focused on solving real-world problems with GenAI well ahead of the curve, while most companies are still using GenAI for chatbots,” says Bitti. It was a practical, inventive use of GenAI that quickly turned heads. The project delivered immediate results, improving environmental insight, reducing operational risk and demonstrating AI’s potential in complex, high-stakes scenarios. In October 2023, Flexa was invited to San Francisco to present the project to AWS industry leaders. It placed this quietly pioneering team from South America at the center of Silicon Valley’s innovation conversation, not because they were first but because they delivered results when others were still testing. Today, Flexa continues to apply GenAI to solve specific, measurable business challenges. It combines AWS-certified infrastructure expertise with advanced GenAI capabilities, helping businesses in retail, manufacturing, automotive, technology and enterprise services build secure, scalable ecosystems and deliver custom AI solutions tailored to their data, needs and innovation pace. Intelligence That Fits, Scales and Delivers For many companies chasing business modernization, the destination is clear, but the path is anything but. Some start with cloud migration, others with AI pilots. These efforts often unfold in silos—fragmented, disconnected and rarely aligned with long-term goals. Disparate strategies may solve isolated problems but seldom change how a business operates, competes or grows. Flexa bridges that gap with integrated, rather than overlaid, intelligence. Instead of treating AI as an add-on, it places GenAI at the center of business transformation, anchored in secure, scalable AWS architecture. It’s not AI for AI’s sake. It’s about solving business problems with speed, precision and measurable value. “When GenAI entered the conversation, so did a new kind of client. They weren’t asking for IT upgrades. They wanted operational intelligence, automation, custom content generation and better decisions. That’s what GenAI delivers when built right,” says Bitti. Every Flexa engagement begins by identifying what holds clients back. What’s slowing teams down? Where is manual effort draining resources? What data remains underused or trapped in silos? For Indra, a company in the free energy market, the challenge was to drastically reduce the time and human effort required to migrate clients to this new model. Flexa responded by developing a Generative AI solution that automates the processing of energy bill photos and generates ready-to-send proposals for migration to the free energy market. A process that previously took 5 days and dozens of people is now completed automatically in just 5 minutes. Built on Amazon Bedrock, the solution brings real-time efficiency and scalability, transforming how Indra operates in this highly regulated and competitive sector.

Flexa Cloud: Building Intelligence That Moves Industries Forward

Top Artificial Intelligence Platform in Latin America 2025

Compliance today isn’t a siloed checklist—it’s a living, interconnected framework. From corporate governance to data privacy and industry-specific regulation, organizations are expected to manage it all under growing scrutiny and tightening laws. Be Compliance unifies the diverse yet interdependent facets of compliance in a fully featured, AI-powered platform. It is one of the few solutions in the market that offer modular, intelligent, and tailored compliance solutions across various domains. The comprehensive platform is powered by Athena, its proprietary AI engine, seamlessly integrated across its modules. Athena drives intelligent automation, proactive risk detection and adaptive compliance management, bringing agility to daily processes. "Our mission is to help companies navigate compliance with the latest AI technology, all while preserving full control and confidentiality," The Be Compliance platform encompasses three core modules tailored to corporate, privacy and sector-specific compliance needs. Powering all modules, Athena operates within a secure environment customized to each client’s compliance requirements. The corporate compliance module combines essential compliance functions such as due diligence, risk control and governance management. A secure whistleblower reporting system within the module provides a secure and anonymous space for employees to report misconduct. Athena plays a critical role in this module by enhancing due diligence. It analyzes public data on suppliers, partners and service providers to support more informed and accurate decision-making. In whistleblower cases, it organizes reported data, identifies key individuals, maps organizational context and flags potential risks—all while ensuring human oversight remains central. The privacy and data compliance module addresses the fast-evolving landscape of personal data protection. In an era when regulations like the GDPR in Europe, LGPD in Brazil and CCPA in California are reshaping how organizations handle personal information, this module helps clients identify, monitor and manage sensitive data in full alignment with global privacy standards. Athena’s capabilities support this module by enhancing data analysis and automating risk identification, improving efficiency and accuracy in compliance management. The regulatory compliance module is tailored to industries with complex and stringent oversight requirements, such as finance, healthcare and insurance. It maps detailed regulatory demands to internal processes and provides tools that help companies remain agile as laws and jurisdictional obligations evolve. AI integration assists in automating regulatory mapping and providing real-time insights to adapt quickly to changing requirements. Intelligent risk analysis has helped numerous companies uncover hidden vulnerabilities and make smarter decisions before problems arise. One such case involved a leading global beverage company planning to open a new factory in a city in the interior region of São Paulo. At first glance, the location checked all the boxes—cost-effective land, good infrastructure and a promising local workforce. But when the company’s risk team ran the site through Athena, a critical issue surfaced. The city faced recurring water shortages for roughly 20 days each year. For a company with products that rely on water for more than 90 percent of their composition, this wasn’t just a red flag, it was a dealbreaker. While engineers and planners were focused on equipment, permits and staffing, Athena flagged a foundational flaw in the plan. Armed with the insight, the company chose to relocate to a nearby city with stable water supply, similar in cost and infrastructure, but without the operational risk. In another case, a large-scale data center in Brazil turned to Athena to strengthen its continuity strategy. It flagged an environmental pattern of heavy rainfall leading to frequent power outages, sometimes lasting longer than the facility’s generators were designed to handle. Based on Athena’s recommendations, the company upgraded its power infrastructure to ensure uninterrupted service even during multi-day outages.
