Walter Watson serves as director of technology lifecycle management at CNA Insurance, overseeing how the company’s technology assets evolve and retire. He manages risks associated with aging platforms, builds team alignment and keeps systems running without disruption. His approach blends structure, foresight and coordination, helping technology serve the business with clarity and control.

Watson began his professional journey inside highsecurity intelligence units of the U.S. Air Force. Working in classified environments, he supported critical decision-making through data analysis, mission planning and operational readiness. His early roles placed him at the center of global logistics and intelligence workflows, where timing, precision and alignment were non-negotiable. He trained thousands of personnel, advised senior leadership and supported operations where every move had ripple effects far beyond the room.

During his tenure, Watson moved through roles in analysis, strategic operations and executive support. His final assignment had him managing daily operations for a 1,500-member team, working directly with air force leadership to coordinate travel, scheduling, communications and enterprise-level initiatives. These experiences shaped a leadership style built on discipline, adaptability and strategic calm under pressure.

Following his service, he transitioned into business operations at Doma, where he joined during a rapid scale phase. As a senior associate, he supported workforce management, technology rollouts and projects across departments. His efforts helped stabilize operations as the product portfolio grew in a highly regulated environment. He drove precision in execution while keeping projects flexible enough to meet shifting goals.

Watson later joined CNA Insurance as a senior consultant within the technology lifecycle management team, where he began shaping how the company approaches system risk and longterm platform stability. He developed tools for capacity planning, introduced agile coordination across teams and led initiatives that addressed legacy infrastructure challenges. His ability to create systems that inform and guide enabled him to transition into a broader leadership role

Now serving as director of technology lifecycle management, he leads the program with a focus on risk strategy, lifecycle governance and enterprise readiness. He oversees technology assessments, coordinates across business units and ensures that platforms transition without disruption while staying aligned to operational goals.

Alongside his role at CNA, Watson is pursuing a graduate degree in management information systems from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He is also completing a certification in information technology management that includes governance frameworks, risk mitigation and change control systems. This academic training supports his day-to-day leadership by reinforcing the technical and strategic layers of lifecycle planning.
