What are some of the challenges impacting the market place today?

Generative AI has presented a cascade of opportunities for businesses of all sizes, but it can be challenging to analyze, deploy, and sustain these tools in a way that suits business requirements.

This common obstacle arises whenever a new technological wave emerges, such as with the modern data stack, blockchain, NFTs, and the metaverse. Although these technologies offer value and new capabilities, they can be challenging to evaluate and implement. It is essential to go back to the basics of technology evaluation and take a careful approach to implementation. By doing so, businesses can effectively leverage the power of generative AI and maximize its potential in a way that aligns with their unique goals and needs.

How do you envision the future of generative AI?

It's, indeed, a difficult task to predict the impact of generative AI on companies across this sector. People with the knowledge of implementing this technology will have the opportunity to transform their businesses and operations. The potential uses of generative AI are vast and unpredictable, but certain frameworks can help determine its most beneficial applications and impact on a company. Ultimately, the success of companies in the industry will depend on their ability to effectively incorporate generative AI into their overall strategy.

What would be your piece of advice for budding professionals in the field?

Before seeking out new technology, I advise leaders and peers working in the field of generative AI to understand the business problem or opportunity and prioritize the organization's requirements. It is crucial to conduct extensive investigation on any new technology or vendor, whether through experimentation, PoC, or demonstrations. Once a novel AI capability has been identified, it is essential to determine where in the value chain it can be applied and what levers can be pulled to increase its impact.

In addition, it is essential to evaluate the current state of data quality and how a new AI capability might affect it. Leaders must also consider the upstream and downstream effects that a solution may have on the data supply chain, as well as the implications of architecture, security, privacy, and risk. Leaders should work closely with their teams to enhance the guest, employee, or stakeholder experience, or to identify revenue growth opportunities. They need to effectively leverage the power of generative AI to propel their organizations forward by adhering to these measures.
