Leveraging Technology For Operational Excellence

With 25 years in the industry, I have always focused on using technology to enhance operations, improve efficiency, and drive business growth. Whether by generating revenue or enabling organizations to make data-driven decisions, my goal has been to optimize performance through technology and innovation.

Before joining Limbach, I spent eight years as a Microsoft partner, specializing in the energy, utilities, and manufacturing sectors. My work focused on helping organizations harness data and technology to drive efficiency, particularly through energy benchmarking and IoT-driven building optimization. This experience gave me a deep understanding of how digital solutions can transform the built environment, making operations more intelligent and efficient.

Given my background in IoT and building data, transitioning to Limbach was a natural step. Here, I apply my expertise to drive digital transformation, helping the company and its customers leverage technology to optimize building systems—just as I did for clients during my consulting years.

My primary role is to help facility owners optimize their buildings and make informed decisions for capital planning. We achieve this by leveraging data and technology to enhance building performance, streamline maintenance, and improve sustainability efforts.

One of our key strengths is the combination of technical systems expertise and advanced data analytics. Our craft workforce is on the ground handling retrofits, service, and maintenance, while our data analysis team takes a holistic approach, using building automation systems, control data, and CMMS work orders to assess building operations. By integrating energy benchmarking, we help clients reduce energy waste and enhance efficiency in HVAC, lighting, and mechanical systems through automation and predictive analytics.

Sustainability and climate planning are also central to our approach. We assist customers in achieving carbon reduction goals through energy-efficient solutions, renewable energy integration, and smart grid programs. By aligning building operations with climate objectives using real-time analytics, we enable cost savings and long-term sustainability.

  Establishing strong partnerships between IT and business units ensures that technology is leveraged strategically rather than existing as a standalone function.  

Beyond optimizing buildings, we also focus on addressing industry-wide labor shortages. The evolving workforce landscape requires a shift toward automation, prefabrication, and digital workflows—not to replace workers, but to support them. By integrating technology, we enhance productivity, accelerate learning, and allow workers to focus on high-value tasks rather than repetitive processes.

Lastly, staying ahead of compliance and sustainability regulations is imperative. With rules and standards shifting frequently, organizations must continuously monitor and adapt to regulatory requirements to maintain compliance and long-term viability.
