CHICAGO, IL: Cleversafe, an IBM company which delivers a software platform to solve enterprise storage challenges, announces software defined/hardware aware storage approach. The latest approach is designed with the industrial standard which takes the hidden cost and complexity out of SDN (Software Defined Storage) to give enterprise customers a greater deployment flexibility to manage their hardware and software from a single management system.

The Cleversafe software defined/hardware aware storage approach is based on integrating interoperability and unified management between storage software and certified hardware platforms, from a single interface. This integration enables higher system availability and simplified system management to deliver active monitoring of disk drives, power supplies and other critical component across the IT environments.

The latest approach provides a Disk Lifecycle Management feature which predicts drive failures in advance before any occurrence of issues while moving data to adjacent drives. The approach also simplifies system upgrades, increases system reliability, availability and manageability. It also streamlines the new generations of hardware by providing new certified hardware platforms of higher –capacity technologies.

Cleversafe also announces the growing list of hardware certified platforms that include: HPE Apollo 4510, HPE Apollo 4530 and HPE Apollo 4200 servers, Big Data-optimized servers from Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), Seagate CP-2584 server and Supermicro 4U SSG-6048R-E1CR36L/H Super Storage Servers.

“Cleversafe’s software defined/hardware aware storage system provides customers with greater deployment flexibility and the assurance that the technology will seamlessly integrate with their existing IT environments,” says Scott Sinclair, analyst at ESG.
