RALEIGH, NC: Red Hat recently released CloudForms 4, the fourth edition of its CloudForms hybrid cloud management platform. The latest version adds Microsoft Azure to its already renowned collection of managed platforms, as a part of the Microsoft-Red Hat partnership.

The latest release comes in light of the IT infrastructure progression from traditional virtualization to Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) model. The CloudForms platform is ever-evolving and it provides a secure and consistent user experience and functionality.

CloudForms 4 can manage both guest and host systems, which allow efficient management of workloads and infrastructure within a single system. This is an upgrade to previous versions which offered management capabilities across platforms including Red Hat enterprise virtualization and Microsoft Hyper-v. Another enhancement to the CloudForms is the cloud-centric containerization, where it provides visibility into the workloads running inside containers.

The platform also includes technology contributions from Nuage Networks, Produban and Booz Allen Hamilton. They dispense SDN provider to the CloudForms, improve chargeback and billing support to ManageIQ - a project by Red Hat and contribute code to integrate Project Jellyfish respectively.

"CloudForms 4 marks a milestone in hybrid cloud management. The addition of container management will enable CloudForms to provide a unified management experience across a wider variety of cloud platforms. We are also pleased to both continue building Red Hat’s strategic relationship with Microsoft and meet customer requests by adding management capabilities for Microsoft Azure,” says Joe Fitzgerald, VP Management, Red Hat.
