Geotab Gains Data Visualization Capabilities with the Take Over of Maps BI
FREMONT, CA: Telematics company Geotab has announced acquisition of one of its partners, Maps BI. Maps BI, founded in 2013 under Inovex, is a SaaS tool that helps users to integrate and manipulate their location-based data. The tool offers visualization and spatial understanding of Big Data regardless of users’ business sectors or organization. As part of the takeover, Maps BI executives, Mike Branch, CEO, Bob Bradley, CTO, and Bernard Cheng, Lead Developer, will join Geotab’s executive staff.

Geotab’s fleet management software MyGeotab eliminates the complexities involved in data collection while transforming it into useful information for users. The acquisition provides Geotab with enhanced geospatial data visualization capabilities as well as interactive dashboards which further complement its expertise in telematics. The capabilities of MyGeotab coupled with the resources acquired from Maps BI will enable Geotab to facilitate spatial understanding of collected data to its customers. Moreover, the visualization features of Maps BI allow MyGeotab to augment its skills in data analytics that consequently helps the software to realize its fleet management goals faster.
