GoDaddy Goes Live on AppDirect

By CIOReview | Wednesday, March 30, 2016

FREMONT, CA: GoDaddy Inc., a trusted technology partner for small businesses, recently announced that it will now be available on the AppDirect network. This will allow small businesses to affix custom domain names while purchasing Office 365 in AppDirect-driven marketplaces.

As part of the Office 365 purchase experience, domain names can now be provided to small businesses by AppDirect service provider and value-added reseller (VARs) partners. Earlier, small businesses had to register a domain name separately for professional email addresses and then complete numerous varied steps in order to link their domain names to their Office 365 accounts. Now, they can register custom domain names and email addresses to fit their business needs directly.

AppDirect brings together providers, developers and consumers of cloud services into a single ecosystem via their cloud service commerce platform. This allows enterprises to find, buy, manage, monitor and get support for cloud services from a centralized location and affords new opportunities to distribute, sell and market cloud services. AppDirect-powered marketplaces, billing and distribution and reselling services help providers like Telstra, ADP, Swisscom, Deutsche Telekom among others unite businesses with solutions from Microsoft, Google, Box and more.

"Owning your digital identity is important to individuals and businesses," said GoDaddy Chief Product Officer Steven Aldrich, who is a keynote speaker for the AppDirect Partner Summit later this year. "Now that GoDaddy is on the AppDirect platform, customers can quickly add custom email addresses to their Office 365 accounts. This gives them a professional email address which increases prospects' willingness to do business with them and the business owner can also use their domain name for a website or social presence."

"AppDirect has always focused on helping businesses find, buy and manage the software they need to thrive," said Richard Dufty, Senior Vice President, Worldwide Sales, Customer Success and Alliances. "Allowing our partners to sell GoDaddy domains with Office 365 helps them create better and more lasting relationships with their business customers, who gain access to the applications they need while growing their online presences."

Other than adding a domain name to Office 365, GoDaddy will in addition offer standalone domain name registration in the not too distant future. Back in 2015, GoDaddy was awarded by AppDirect for its innovation in technology for domain name and Office 365 integration.
