Multi-cloud management challenges

Ninety percent of our customers are Multicloud, which is an achievement for us who started in this market when there was only one option, and for our customers who learned from us that the world was like that. Fortunately, the market has evolved and today there are some options in IaaS and Data, and many in SaaS.

These options, in addition to boosting the market – competition is good in an open market – also brought different approaches to the challenges of each client. If, on the one hand, there are obvious added value identifications for certain uses in the Cloud, on the other, there is also a commercial convenience – note that I did not deal with price, but with proximity, current contracts, interests, in addition to Cloud. If you currently have a Telco, database or software provider in general, using the Cloud that your provider represents or that your provider has developed, clearly has its benefits.

The view, which I'm not sure how it came about, that being multicloud is changing from one to the other as the stock market goes up or down, sorry, that doesn't actually exist. The Ideal is to identify the strengths of each Cloud and embrace it. Extracting the maximum benefits, but taking care to understand what the technological obstacles and discount contracts are to have the freedom to change course when necessary. After all, the world is always changing and changing in 1 minute, like the ChatGPT phenomenon that doesn't have much to do with this editorial, yet. And I assure you, it was I who wrote this here!

 Being multi-cloud means “multi-expanding” your management efforts in terms of contracts, billing, support, and mainly: FinOps, security, performance, continuity, operations, and visibility. 

Returning to the theme, if Multicloud is a reality and brings tangible benefits, we need to talk about the management of these clouds. Being multicloud means “multi-expanding” your management efforts in terms of contracts, billing, support and mainly: FinOps, security, performance, continuity, operations, visibility, in short, bringing everything that runs on a cloud and increasing power for the number of clouds contracted. Believing that the cloud is self-manageable is neglecting some important pillars of its management and some points such as: compliance, FinOps, security, among others.
